About Us

Speller Metcalfe are a main contractor operating on a national basis, but predominantly in London, the Midlands & Southwest.  Founded by Steve Speller and Andy Metcalfe in 1995 the group now has an annual turnover of £60M and has always placed a strong emphasis on the values of Sustainable Development.

In order to respond to the global need to reduce the environmental impact of buildings, particularly in terms of CO² emissions, Speller Metcalfe Ecobuild was created as a specialist division within the Speller Metcalfe Group to provide expertise in the Design & Build of Sustainable Buildings.  The UK Government has identified that one of the major barriers to achieving more Sustainable Buildings is the lack of knowledge & skills within the construction industry;

‘Success depends on a dedicated a skilled construction team with a strong commitment to sustainability, who bring goodwill and innovation to new systems’ – Government Communities Agency, 2009.

We believe that through the expertise we already hold and proactive approach we are taking to educating our supply chain, we are already bridging this gap.

Operating in both the private and public sector we are equally well versed in newbuild and refurbishment.  We offer particular expertise in the education, healthcare, housing and local authority sectors.
