Speller-Metcalfe worked with the University of Bristol to construct a new £1.081M Modern Languages Multimedia Centre facility for the Faculty of Arts. The building will enable modern language students to access radio and TV from across Europe via an array of satellite dishes located on the roof of an adjacent building. It is an extension to a Victorian Villa that lies within the Clifton Conservation Area and is built to a contemporary Mews style to complement adjacent older buildings.

The 400m2 extension building consists of two floors incorporating teaching and seminar space with a cinema style viewing room, audio recording studio and resource store for electronic modern language media. The media is accessed by students using TV over IP on their desktop computers to experience media coverage from the countries that they are studying.

Whilst the initial preconstruction design for the building was for a BREEAM Very Good rating; Speller-Metcalfe managed their build programme to achieve a final BREEAM Excellent rating. This was the first building within the University Precinct to achieve this.
