The design and construction of a new children’s centre, for Gloucester County Council, within the boundaries of the existing school.
The construction consisted of pile foundations, concrete raft, and a steel frame construction, with masonry walls clad with a mixture of external timber panels and render in various colours with complimentary window configurations.
External it was specifically designed to be vibrant and exciting to the young visitors. Internally as well as early learning areas, there were offices, a demonstration kitchen a small café area conference room and an internal play space with bi folding doors that opened to the external hard and soft play areas.
A proactive approach toward BREEAM was taken throughout, working closely with the Architect, Services Engineers etc, to select sustainable building fabric solutions and heating and ventilation systems.
